For 35 years as retailers in San Francisco, Sutro’s founders interacted with their consumers. They learned what their customers were looking for in footwear: their "sweet spot" in spending, the level of comfort they expected from their shoes, and where they wanted this comfort. Most importantly, they saw that none of the brands on the market addressed all of these concerns.
